Optimizing Wi-Fi and 5G signals ensures reliable performance for industrial and enterprise applications.
Steps
1. Optimize Router Placement
-
Place the router in a central, elevated location, away from walls, metal objects, and electronics (e.g., microwaves).
-
For 5G, position it near a window or in an area with strong cellular reception.
The GO5 uses four cellular antennas (ANT0–ANT3) for optimal 5G NR SA/NSA connectivity. -
Maintain a 20 cm distance between the antennas and people to comply with FCC/IC radiation exposure limits.
2. Select the Best Wi-Fi Band and Channel
-
Go to Interface > Wireless > Wireless Settings:
-
Use 5 GHz (up to 867 Mbps) for high-speed tasks near the router.
-
Use 2.4 GHz (up to 300 Mbps) for better coverage over longer distances.
-
-
Under Advanced Settings, select non-overlapping channels:
-
2.4 GHz: Channels 1, 6, or 11
-
5 GHz: Set to Auto for best performance
-
Tips
-
Reboot the router (under System > Reboot) periodically to refresh connections.
-
Monitor signal strength via Status > Overview or RCMS for real-time diagnostics.
